 Dimitris Skarmoutso Bio

Dimitris Skarmoutsos was born in Athens. At a young age, he went to America, where after obtaining his degree in economics from UCLA, he continued his studies at the Culinary Institute of America.

  • In 1993 he began his first professional steps with Thomas Keller, completing his French and Japanese cuisine dissertation.

  • In 1996 he started working in big hotels, such as the Sheraton Hotel as an executive chef and other well-known American restaurants.

  • In 2001 he returned to Greece and, more specifically, to Chania, where he learned the secrets of Cretan cuisine and traditional local products.

  • In 2005 he moved to Athens to work as Chef of the restaurant "Alatsi," winning the Golden Cap and Gourmet Awards.

  • In 2010 and for three years, he was a jury member in the cooking reality of Mega Channel "Master Chef" and "Junior Master Chef."

  • From 2011 to 2015, he is the Executive Chef of ERGON restaurants in Greece and abroad.

  • For the years 2013-2014, he continues his collaboration with MEGA, with the successful show "Without a Recipe," and a year later, he participates in the show "Joy," presenting Athens's excellent food.

  • In 2015 he decided to create the official website of dimitrisskarmoutsos.gr so that he can share his recipes and knowledge about cooking and good food.

  • In 2016 he took over the menu at the Museum Restaurant in Kifissia.

This year's TV season finds him on the set of ANT1 TV as a presenter of the cooking show "Neighborhoods on the plate."
